Anderson vII pg530 - letter #568

Dear Z[meskall],

It is impossible for me to come to you today, for I am invited to dinner and shall not be able to leave that house before five o’clock – So please order the tailor for three o’clock tomorrow when I shall condescend, for ought I care and if it really has to be, to drop into the Z[meskall]ian D[omanovecz]ian coffee house – Should you be prevented, however, from meeting me tomorrow, then let me know this in good time – If you neither write nor cancel this arrangement, then I shall come.

                                                          In haste, your friend
                                                                                             Beethoven
